For over 65 years the Pedagogical University of Cracow has taken the lead among pedagogical higher education institutions in Poland. It is exceptional because of its high prestige, professional education and modernity.



The mission of the Pedagogical University is exercised by professional and experienced teaching staff who apply modern and up to date teaching contents. It is also expressed through scientific research, outlining new fields of scientific development, transmitting knowledge, and developing and enriching the personality of the graduates by educating them according to the highest European standards.


The educational provision of the Pedagogical University of Cracow covers 27 fields of study and dozens of special subjects. The University offers courses at first, second and third degree level, i.e. doctoral studies and postgraduate courses. The courses can be followed in five different faculties with outstanding professionals and highly qualified academic staff. The aim of the Pedagogical University of Cracow is to enable its students to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The graduates of the University can gain the following academic degrees: Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master's degree in Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. That is why they can hold responsible posts in educational and cultural institutions as well as in public administrative bodies.



The Programmes of Study are based on the European Credit Transfer and on the ECTS Points Accumulation System developed by the European Commission. The ECTS System facilitates the process of student exchange programmes, since credits can be transferred between countries, as well as student mobility among higher education institutions. Moreover, the University tries to meet students' expectations and therefore offers the possibility of studying according to a personalised study programme.



The academic staff of The Pedagogical University of Cracow comprises outstanding teachers and specialists, whose skills and qualifications guarantee a high level of education. According to the university ranking in Poland, published by the monthly magazine "Perspektywy" and the prestigious daily newspaper "Rzeczpospolita", in the year 2011 the Pedagogical University of Cracow took first place among the best pedagogical universities in Poland.

The courses can be completed in such faculties as: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Pedagocy, Faculty of Geography and Biolology, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Technical Science, and Faculty of Art

 

The role of  the Department of Psychology one of the Faculty of Pedagogy divisions  in the project is related to possibilities which are offered from scientific as well as practical area in reference to staff professional experiences, who work in the field of exceptional people psychology.
