First Partner Meeting – Krakow 2012

The first partner meeting took place in Krakow and was composed of two parts. One was going on  15th-18th of November and the second one on 12th-13th of December of 2012.

The meeting was going of working sessions as well as visits in two School and Educational Centers were held: No. 1 and No. 3 in Krakow.

The working sessions were dedicated to the presentation of partner institutions and the presentation of project assumptions, which were accepted by all partners at the stage of agreement validation, but required detailed directions. As an introduction, Jonnna Kossewska, welcomed the guests on behalf of the hosts (Pedagogical University and Krakow Branch of National Society for Autism), stressing the historical and cultural ties between Poland and each of the partner countries.

Discussions particularly concerned the issue of material content of the vocational education program, which is the overriding target of the project. It was collectively established that:

·         Program material content ought to be adjusted to the real needs of people with autism, thus pre-tests, which bring in information, are required.  Regarding the training needs that are the starting point for further project work.

·         the program would include training at two levels: 1) a general one, involving the development of universal competences, necessary for dealing in every place and work environment – e.g. ability to organize work, and 2) a detailed one, encompassing training within a specialized path, preparing for performing certain type of work-related tasks, e.g. office work, digitalization of printed resources, making order in hotel, cook, and gardening.

·         Polish team has arranged the project logo competition for university students. The winner logo would be presented on project website as well as in all project material and documents.

·         Meetings timetable should be changed according to individual partners obstacles and obligation.

Working sessions were very intensive however fruitful for our two years cooperation.
